Subdued and brooding is Autumn also. In a more simple time we easily assumed what we needed to make us complete, and thought not much further about anything else. The growing darkness compounds our desires and the short days warp reality, suddenly making dreams seem possible. Combine these two states and you have time of transmission.
I was supposed to go the the Garbage concert in Portland with my sister. But she cut me off and made up a lie that I "blocked" her when I never did. She has shown her true colours, so I never went to the concert. I agree that Autumn is brooding, and everything and everyone is acting weird right now.
